We

All the same and intertwined together
Caught in a snapshot by eagle feathers
Anointed sons of founding fathers
Blood lines red and white and blue
Clench fists with structural oppression
Dominance a cloth instilled ambition

Iron and steel and fire and death
Wave the flag from right to left
Cast your vote to kill the Earth
Imagine what the soul of a child is worth
Ask for change on faithful investment
Receive a loss for mind’s resentment

Breathe in and sigh without remorse
All together bring about a path to course
Voices low and high and true between
This is not all that life should bring
If ever there was truth let it be free
Today is the tomorrow where I becomes We

rituaLOVE

Dignity of the driftwood came
perilously down the path.
Twisted in sight
battle tested
guidance gave intelligence
meaning
accompanied by faith.
Sinister personalities in the shadows
bore torches in the night.
Moon’s opulence glowed
poignant through the trees.
She said to me
her hand in mine
desperate eyes of passion
her lips quivered like
the day we first locked eyes
knowing in moments we would kiss
and never feel
the need to break free
to release our love
from the sliver between us.
She held my hand and told me
this could never be again.
These were the last moments of
our companionship
but our love
and togetherness
would live on.
I led her to a plateau
rocky and ancient
and worn into a natural state.
Forged by the druids
of mystic capability
where the mystery of their method
lay just as that
of the shadow
she followed me up the softened steps.
With hands on her shoulder
the drapes of her gown fell
in one pull.
Naked in the firelight
where my torch burned on from its holder
her skin warmed orange.
I lay her nude body down
across the stone tablet
imagining its cold
roughness
against her back
yet she did not wince
or shutter
and from my cloak I revealed the dagger
crimson handle
golden trim
and blessedly forged
steel blade.
“I love you my darling.”
Her head turned in the slightest
as my arms dropped swiftly
and the point broke into her heart
with a solid thrust
and pop of the sternum.
Air left her mouth one last time
but before it finally ascended her lips
I kissed them once more
inhaling her essence for that one final
magical time
under her moon
this final dance
at this
the end of her time.

I will think of her always
when the moon is out
life is dim
and the world
needs love.

…e

Crash landed here
Sights and sounds
Steps in the direction
Right or wrong
Discovery comes far
There is liquid in my eyes

Itch on my neck
Fortunate to have a stranger pass by
Misgivings allowed
I am afraid
Finds me in his memory
Was I there all along

Running as if there’s no tomorrow
Panting and aching
Thirst strangles innards
How much longer can I last
No sound from my own
I’m alone in the mystery

There it comes to me
Crouched low
More fearful than I
Rumbled from it’s head
Is this it
It’s ov–

Starlight (a song)

When you see the starlight
When you hear the moon sing
Then you will know it’s all right

Then when you see me
Far in the distance
Then you’ll know we’re alive

Please come and meet me
Where we began here
Love will be two of a kind

When you see the starlight
When you hear the moon sing
Then you will know it’s all right

Nothing comes between us
Connected through the colors
Forever comes along for the ride

Silence in the ocean
Softness on the mountains
Mother made us follow her blind

God on the horizon
Steps to forgiveness
Father will you be my guide

When you see the starlight
When you hear the moon sing
Then you will know it’s all right

You are my universe
My constant revolution
Together as one side by side

Without you I am nothing
A molecule without atoms
Please never leave me behind

Life everlasting
Dreams lost in heaven
For yours is the love of all time

When you see the starlight
When you hear the moon sing
Then you will know its all right
